Year	Events
1725	Yoshinaga Asano, Fifth Lord of the Hiroshima Clan established the clan school, Kogakusho.
1887	Shudo, a private school, was established.
1905	Shudo Middle School was established.
1952	The two-year evening Junior College for Commercial Studies was established.
1956	Daytime courses at the College started.
1960	Hiroshima College of Commerce (Hiroshima Shoka Daigaku) established the Faculty of Commercial Sciences and the Department of Business Studies.
1963	The Department of Business Administration was created.
1969	The Department of Management Science was established.
1971	The Master’s degree course in Business Studies was introduced.
1973	The Faculty of Humanities and Human Sciences was established containing the Departments of Human Sciences and English Language and Literature. The name of the school was changed to Hiroshima Shudo University.The Doctoral course in Business Studies was introduced.
1974	The University moved from the Kannon Campus to the present Numata Campus.
1976	The Faculty of Law was established.
1977	The Doctoral course in Business Administration was introduced.
1978	Master’s degree courses in Psychology and English Language and Literature were introduced.
1981	The Master’s degree course in Law and Doctoral courses in Psychology and English Language and Literature were introduced.
1984	Master’s degree courses in Sociology and Education were established.
1988	The authorized number of students in the Department of Management Science in the Faculty of Commercial Sciences, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Humanities and Human Sciences increased.
1990	The Department of International Politics in the Faculty of Law was established.
1994	The Master’s degree course in International Politics was introduced.
1997	The Faculty of Economic Sciences was established containing the Department of Contemporary Economics and the Department of Economic Information. The Department of Business Studies was renamed the Department of International Business Studies.
2001	Master’s degree courses in Contemporary Economics and Economic Information were introduced.
2002	The Faculty of Human Environmental Studies was established containing the Department of Human Environmental Studies.
2003	Doctoral courses in Contemporary Economics and Economic Information were introduced.
2004	School of Law was established. The two-year evening Junior College for Commercial Studies was closed.
2007	The Department of International Business Studies was renamed the Department of Business Studies.
2010	50th Anniversary.
2015	Merged with Suzugamine Gakuen and made Suzugamine Girls' Junior High and Senior High School HSU's affiliated school.
2016	Reorganized the Education Course, the Department of Human Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities and Human Sciences into the Department of Education, the Faculty of Humanities and Human Sciences.
2017	Established the Department of Psychology and the Department of Health and Nutrition in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
2018	Established the Faculty of Global and Community Studies containing the Department of Global Politics and the Department of Regional Administration.
2024	Reorganized the Sociology Course, the Department of Human Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities and Human Sciences into the Department of Sociology, the Faculty of Humanities and Human Sciences.
